birth story.

It’s been a whole year now so I figured it was time to share Kysons birth story!

8.7.20
At 41 wks we showed up at 5:30am to get induced. They were VERY busy that day so they didn’t even get to us until about 7:30. Kysons heart rate was everywhere so they wanted us to wait a few hours for him to chill out before inducing me. At 9:30 they induced me with Cytotec. I bounced on the ball. Played some card games. Walked the halls. Had some popsicles. They checked me at 1pm, I was 3cm dilated. Then my water broke right after and I jumped to 5cm! That’s when the real contractions started. We walked more and bounced some more. My Dr came in a few hours later to check on us, I was at a 5 still. I told her “just cut it out”, but she suggested a hot shower… somehow I felt that was a compromise, ha! Aaron hosed me down in the shower for an hour straight. The contractions were so much more bearable in the shower. I went back to the bed around 4:15pm. They checked me and I was at 7cm. It was obviously my transition time. I needed a little something to help, so I got a dose of some meds, rolled on my other side to get some movement happening. I fought through contractions for 30 more minutes. At 4:45 my Dr came in to check and said “You’re complete, you’re ready”. I said “ready for what?!” “to push” she said! So it was show time. They got me in position and I began to push. Just 11 minutes later Kyson was here!!

Kyson John Conner was born at 5:01pm. Weighing 7.15lbs & was 22 3/4 long.

It was honestly sweet to be able to have a baby during Covid, just me and Aaron going through it together.
